Park (San Francisco, CA) Three schools in southwest San FranciscoSan Miguel ChildDevelopment Center, James Denman Middle School and Balboa High Schoolsit on a contiguous piece of land of about nine acres. They are currently separate campuses with concrete, asphalt and chain-linked fences and are being transformed byLife Frames, Inc. and Bonnie Ora Sherk, in conjunction with the three schools, into the OMI/Excelsior Living Library & Think Park. This transformation integrates the ecological, built, and cultural milieu of the sitepast, present and futureand links to the curricula of the three schools. The students learn math, science, social studies, language arts, technology, the arts, and other subjects through involvement in interdisciplinary, project-based learningall aspects.
